Game Set Up
In RESIDUE, you travel through undiscovered places in search of lost ruins, guided by a constant signal called The Hum. The Hum marks your objective and leads to Ruins, Relics, and major story events.
This Intro Exploration teaches the game step by step. You only need this book and the game on Tabletopia.
Setup
Set Your Character
- Choose 1 Character Card.
- Place your Character Card on your Player Board.
- Choose 1 of your Character’s starting Keywords.
- Place that Keyword Card on your Inventory Board.
- Place your 2 Character Starting Skill Cards on your Player Board.
- Roll and record your HP.
- Place your starting Inventory dice on your Inventory Board.
- Place your starting Luck die on your Player Board.
- Take your Character’s Starting Item from the Item Deck and add it to your Inventory Board.
- Record your Strain Threshold.
Choose Difficulty

Place 1 die matching your chosen difficulty on each empty Inventory slot. Do not place dice on Inventory slots already filled by your Character’s starting Inventory.
Set the Components
- Shuffle all remaining Item Cards.
- Shuffle the Creature Cards.
- Shuffle the Corruption Cards.
- Shuffle the Raider Cards.
- Place your token in the center of the HexMap. This is location 0.0.
