Salt. Sulfur. Gas. You awaken on the hill as six crosses burn through the sandstorm.

Your skull rings with wind, fire, and a mechanical shriek. You see bodies around you, but you do not recognize them. They wear the same garments. The same insignias. Everything else has been altered beyond use. As they burn, you see hundreds of small incisions across their bodies.

The wind rises and throws sand across your eyes. The sound is quiet but always present. Thin and violent, pushing through your ears and into the back of your cranium. When you move in the wrong direction, the sound grows stronger.

There is no path left except the one the Hum permits.
